Wendy's Review
Moira wrote a story that had you wanting more from the first sentence, a story that held you in the grips of wanting and needing Nina and Hawk to have a happily ever after.
Nina was a stressed and aggravated woman who wasn’t appreciated or really loved by her brother who she did everything for. Traveling in the snow storm was a bad idea she knew so when she wrecked her car it was no surprise that she would be missed.
Hawk was a wounded man who didn’t want or need anyone near him he had Baron his wolf for company, but he couldn’t leave Nina in the car in the creek embankment to die. Bringing home this gorgeous tall woman he would have never thought she was the one for him. Thinking that she was in a relationship he didn’t want to become involved in her when there wasn’t a future.
Nina and Hawk was a true to life story of two people who needed love and the sexual tension ran rapid in the tiny cabin. When the sexual tension got to tight it broke lose and Hawk showed Nina what being treasured meant. He loved her in everyway a man could to show her that his desires ran deep but he wouldn’t make her stay out in the woods with him. Nina showed Hawk that his physical scars did nothing to diminish her love for him and that she found him tall, broad and sexy as hell.
When trouble comes to their sanctuary Nina thought Hawk was gone forever and that she was to live her live alone and lonely again. But Moira twisted things in her story that caused your heart to stop and listen to your soul.
Loved this story and recommend it for anyone who just wants to read a true love story of two strangers that need to give their love to each other.

4.5 NYMPHS: "The Winter Solstice will be added to my long list of keepers! After reading this fascinating story of how a lasting bond starts and an intruder bent on revenge had me hooked from the beginning. This is quite the twisted tale of suspense and a steaming romance that could have gone different ways. The flow of the writing Ms. Hanson has is smooth and the plot is quite spellbinding and it had me wondering the whole time what would happen next with the two main characters. Hawk’s emotions proved to be his downfall and Nina is what kept him going by her confidence in him. He thought no woman would ever want him with his scars and self-imposed secluded lifestyle. I am really proud of Nina for her determination to go on with life without Hawk or working for her controlling brother and I won’t give away the surprise they experienced, but I think you will enjoy reading it for yourself." -- Goddess Minx, Literary Nymphs Reviews
Loner by choice, Hawk (named after Hawkeye Pierce on Mash) fearing his scars and blind eye will turn women off, has chosen an isolated life in the bush. He's none too pleased about having an Amazon living with him in the form of Nina, even if she is hot and he hasn't had sex for years. But when staying warm means getting hot, these two heat up the remote cabin. Nina is also running from her nothing job working for her spoiled brat brother.
Trouble knocks on Hawk's door in the form of an old enemy, and suddenly Nina is alone. She has a feeling that Hawk is still alive, but why would everyone lie to her about it?
Alive, indeed, but badly broken up, Hawk determines to go back to his lonely existence and let Nina go back to her city life. How can they overcome their different backgrounds to find their happiness?
What is it about this time of year that makes for a plethora of women driving their cars off the road and being rescued by handsome men? This is the third such book I've reviewed this week on that subject. At least this author knows what the cold is really like. It's bitter and dangerous; I was chilled just reading about it.
I liked Hawk and Nina, but I'm not so sure the reasoning for their staying apart made a lot of sense to me. In a real life situation, wouldn't they have at least tried to talk to each other about the future before Hawk gives up? And having left her brother's dead end job, that she hates, why would Nina go back to it when she has another choice?
Hanson is a very descriptive writer and I could actually 'see' entire scenes especially in the cabin and the snowbound rescue. I liked Hawk and Nina, despite their dithering about what they want out of life. The Winter Solstice is a good read but try to stay warm while you read. It's cold out there!
Thanks Patrizia!

A personal note to my readers about Lake Shore Escape~
I have been fortunate enough to express part of my soul through Lake Shore Escape. It is more than just a story of suspense and romance, but a part of myself that I was able to somehow transform into the written word. The characters live within me and I had to share them with the world. We all have to face our demons and sometimes we need a little help so take a seat and dive into the realm of a waitress, a doctor and a serial killer.
Keep living and loving,
Moira

Desmond Haas says, “This is an excellent book for summer reading or for sitting near a roaring fire in winter. All the romantic elements are woven into a love story on top of a thriller.”
Desmond's Review:
A waitress is brutally attacked one evening and is treated at the hospital by a young doctor. While she has had her face slashed and leg broken, the good doctor sees through her injuries but has to reconcile his growing feelings for her with his professional ethics.
Moira Hanson’s more than capable writing skills transforms, what could have been a “me too” story into a unique, passion filled romance, tinged with possible, impending doom. Ms. Hanson carries the plot capably from Samantha’s attack to the resolution, showing Sam to be a formidable character and a strong female presence. Without giving away anything, I’ll say Sam is the epitome of a modern woman.
The two main characters, Samantha Brooks and Dr. Jared Dalton are separate, distinct personalities and carry the story from beginning to the end. Sam’s Great Dane, Maximus (Max), figures prominently, but is a secondary character adding interest and life to the plot and, through him, Ms. Hanson has the equivalent of a Greek chorus, the character amplifying the emotions and actions of Sam and Jared. There are other characters adding to the mix, a psychologist, another doctor and the employees of the restaurant where Sam works.
Lake Shore Escape is a fun, easy read; the romance set up wonderfully well and Jared’s problem with professional ethics handled quite well. While the main story line is the escalating romance between a woman with little experience in relationships and a doctor, Sam’s growth and acceptance of her feelings for Jared and her arc from a 26-year-girl, questioning her romantic responses to a strong willed woman, is the real story.
While many women would like to be wooed by a handsome, single, virile doctor, unfortunately there aren’t enough of those available, so reading Ms. Hanson’s Lake Shore Escape should fulfill a few fantasies. As a romance writer, I love a good romance and this is better than good. Ms. Hanson knows how to tease us with possibilities and keep us turning pages (or pushing buttons on your electronic reader) to follow her plot and get a happily ever after ending.
MANY THANKS TO DESMOND AND HAPPILY EVER AFTER REVIEWS!

Just Erotice Romance Reviews gives Lake Shore Escape 4 Stars!
review by: Karen Haas
Samantha Brooks quit school in her last semester before graduating with a degree in social services to care for her mother. Sam is the only woman to survive an attack by the Lake Shore Killer. When Dr. Jared Dalton saw her unconscious with stitches down her face awaiting his surgery on her leg, something in him claimed her as his own. She was such a little thing to have fought so hard and she was as alone as he. Once she went home, Jared went morning and evening to walk Max, her Great Dane. When the killer threatened her again, Jared moved Sam and Max into his home to protect her. When Detective Cooper discovered the common thread shared by all victims is the diner where Sam had worked, he wants Sam to go back, as bait to draw out the killer.
Jared worried his feelings for Sam were unethical, but he couldn’t hold back after knowing she returned his love. He still made her visit a psychiatrist to make certain a sexual relationship wouldn’t harm her before he gave in to the torture they’d been causing each other. I really admired him for that. Jared was handsome, romantic, a fantastic lover and placed Sam’s welfare above his own. What a man! Sam was determined to not let the killer steal any more of her life. Sam was openly loving and very responsive in bed, funny, sweet and stubborn, just the kind of woman I’d want for a best friend. Their love affair and lots of well written sex are a pleasure to read. This plot leaves the reader turning on the lights and sitting on the edge of the bed once the killer makes his move. We don’t know if Jared and Max are still alive or if the police even know Sam is missing and the book is so well written I cared enough to feel a lot of anxiety for all of them. Reading Lake Shore Escape provides the reader with a great escape for awhile, and isn’t that what we’re all searching for in a book? I enjoyed this one a great deal.
Thank you so much Karen!

What do lost luggage, screwed up hotel reservations, and Godzilla have in common?
Two words- Simone Tanner.
It all starts with an unfortunate accident that has Simone shopping (one thing that she absolutely despises) for a business trip to Japan. Not only is she forced to go to Japan with her gorgeous boss, but she then loses her luggage, and finds out the hotel reservations are screwed up, so she has to room with the eligible and delectable Knox Turner. While it may not sound too bad, the firey red-head can't keep her lustful thoughts at bay and it may just drive her crazy.
Eleven years have passed since Knox Turner locked his heart away and threw away the key. While he is a man with needs, never once has he allowed the women that hedates, the ability to break down the barriers he has built around himself.
Until now.
The young, curvaceous and timid Simone Tanner is working her way to the top for her dream job in advertising. And from the moment she meets Knox, she feels fear, intimidation and something else . . . desire? Work is the top priority she tries to convince herself.
When the two are unexpectedly forced on a business trip to Tokyo more than closing the deal with their client takes place.
The sex is erotic, but will their bond last? Knox has been guarded far too long to let this woman make him feel emotions that he thought were dead.
How dare she!

Fort Knox Blue Ribbon Rating: 4
Knox Turner is a man with a plan and that plan is to never let a woman get close to his heart. He thinks he has it well under control until Simone comes into his life and messes up all of his well laid plans. Knox soon finds himself in more than a sensual clench with Simone, but he's not willing to budge where his commitment rule is concerned. Can Knox find a way to soften his heart or will he wind up losing the love of his life?
Simone Tanner knows what she wants and has a tendancy to go after it. She knows that Knox has a love them and leave them reputation, but could she be the woman to change that. A business trip gives her the perfect opportunity to seduce Knox and show him just what he's missing. In the end will she convince Knox to trust in love or will she wind up with a broken heart?
Knox and Simone have a powerful chemistry that can't be denied and their love scenes leap off the pages. Knox is a hardened man where love is concerned and watching him fall is an interesting journey. Simone has a go getter attitude that readers will love and admire. She uses all of sensual wiles to prove to Knox that they belong together. Moira Hanson is a talented author and has created a powerful tale of love with FORT KNOX.
